Claire can work with you to assess, treat and manage your injury whether it be back pain, neck pain, shoulder and elbow injuries and hip, knee and ankle injuries. She can utilise a number of approaches including hands on manual treatment, dry needling and exercise.
She liaises with sports physicians when required in order to gain optimum outcomes. Claire also has a special interest in hypermobility and the Joint Hypermobility Spectrum.
She currently works as a physiotherapist for Traralgon Swim Club and Gippsland Sports Academy and has worked with a number of Paralympic Athletes. No matter your exercise and sporting goals, Claire can help you achieve them.
Dry Needling is a simple technique designed to reduce muscle tension and spasm. Claire has been using this technique for 14years and she loves how effective it is. She finds it especially useful for treating neck pain and headaches, back pain and hip injuries.

Clinical Pilates is designed to improve posture, increase body awareness and improve overall strength and control. Claire is trained to provide individualised “functional stability” programs to patients of all ages and abilities.
As a form of treatment, Clinical Pilates has the potential to address many injuries and weaknesses; both acute and chronic. Claire has helped many people over the years, whether it be one on one, in groups of up to 3 people or setting up a program for you to do in your home.
Claire will not be offering Clinical Pilates Classes as of Jan 2023. She hopes to once again in the future. In the meantime, she can help you make a program for home or assist you in finding Clinical Pilates that is suited to your needs.
Claire Issell is an experienced physiotherapist having worked in her field for the past 14 years both in Australia and Internationally. She has focused her post graduate training on Women's Health, Clinical Pilates, Dry Needling and Musculoskeletal/Sports Physiotherapy.
Claire is dedicated to helping and treating the people of Gippsland. You can be assured that you will get the help you need with a thorough assessment and hands on treatment. Claire prides herself in giving high quality care.
Claire is highly qualified and experienced in a number of areas which allows her to take a very holistic approach. She has extensive post graduate training and experience in all manners of women's health, becoming a Titled Continence and Women's Health Physiotherapist in 2023. Combined with her experience and training in the musculoskeletal system, you will have expert care from pregnancy to menopause.
Claire began her Bachelor Degree in 2005 at Monash University whilst working as a dance teacher and sports trainer. After graduating, she returned to Gippsland where she worked in both the hospital and private practice setting. She then went to Canada where she worked and sat exams to qualify as a Canadian Physiotherapist whilst "living and working the dream" surrounded by 3 mountain ranges.
For the past ten years, Claire has worked across a number of private practices in Gipplsand whilst progressing her career and starting her family. Claire has completed numerous post graduate studies including her Post Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in 2015, and becoming an APA Titled Member and being inducted into the Australian Physiotherapy College.
Claire is passionate about helping people and finds her career very rewarding. When not working, she is mountain bike riding, snowboarding, stand up paddleboarding and keeping active with her three boys.
